I asked all my facebook friends to give me sketching prompts when I was stuck in a drawing rut awhile back. One of the prompts was "a look of surprise." This dragon somehow appeared on the page as a response. I liked him so much I decided to do a colored version.

I noticed that in the original sketch you have a few lines indicating the dragon's wings outstretched, suggesting the dragon returning from flight. I wonder if the wing had been kept it would further emphasize the emotion of the dragon; although, it would take something really alarming to startle a dragon. Leave a Reply. |
