Beginning Painting
This class will introduce skills and concepts to teens and adults that will help them render objects realistically using gouache paint. It builds on concepts taught in the Drawing Fundamentals class, but anyone developing their representational drawing and painting skills is welcome. We will learn about value, color theory, and how to see, mix, and paint colors accurately. After completing their first painting and becoming familiar with the materials, students will be responsible for bringing their own paints and brushes.

After the first lesson, students will be expected to bring their own paints, brushes, and paper. A materials list will be provided.
In later lessons students will also be expected to select and bring to class subjects to paint--either actual objects to set up in a still life, or printed photographs to use as reference.
