Story time--as a kid I had hip-length blonde hair, and the story of Rapunzel confused me. How did Rapunzel LIVE? How did she get around with all that hair?? My hair was constantly getting in my way and getting stuck in things. As a teen I came up with this humorous solution to Rapunzel's Problem, and it kept appearing in my sketchbooks. Harpist Bear Linocut Print
This whimsical illustration of a bear playing a harp was inspired by a photo of a busker in a bear costume playing a harp on a snowy street. This is exactly kind of unexpected juxtaposition that my imagination tends to latch onto--so of course I had to do my own take on the image! I'm contemplating doing another edition of this in brown, but for now I only have TWO in this edition in warm black, so if you want it grab it before someone else does!

Inspired by the beautifully arranged rainbow bookshelf photos I've seen all over the internet, I decided to do this print to try out a "rainbow roll" for the first time. I love how it turned out! Bonsai Reader Edition 1 (Only 3 Available!)
When I was a kid, my dad bought a bonsai tree for my mom. I was fascinated by the tiny tree, and would imagine being tiny enough to be on the same scale as the tree. And as an avid reader, of course this is what I would do if I could shrink to that size. Personally, my favorite detail in this print are the tiny shoes that have been left beside the pot. They were SO tough to carve, but I'm really happy with how they turned out!
This is my largest and most detailed print yet--I only realized after the fact that I did not have a space large enough to photograph this print as it deserves! I'm still working on getting a good set up for photographing this beauty, but I didn't want to let that hold me back from listing it. Excuse my less than perfect photography skills if you're drawn to this image--it deserves better than I can give it here! I'll update this listing when I've found a good place to photograph it in its full glory ;-).
Since I have to make larger prints by hand these are even more time consuming for me to make than my other prints, so I only made three of these larger prints. If you want this one, grab it before somebody else does! I won't be printing this block with this same paper type, size, and ink color color again. (Thats how limited editions work, my friends!)
(If you're lucky enough to get one of these three, I suggest putting it in a floating frame in order to show off the beaufitul deckled edges. But you do you.)
